New year, new website for the Smart Cities Partnership

January 2015 sees the launch of a new website for the Smart Cities Partnership. Built on the popular open source content management system Drupal, the site puts sophisticated yet easy to use features into the hands of the Partnership for the creation and management of content.

The Smart Cities Partnership’s core aim is to accelerate the delivery of smart ticketing to bus passengers in England. A “smart ticket” is an electronic ticket, which may be stored on a smartcard or phone. Many travellers outside the capital will be familiar with London's Oyster card scheme. The Partnership helps local transport authorities and operators deliver schemes in other English cities.

Interested in finding out more? Profiles of the organisations involved can be found on the Who is the SCP page and you can find out about the individual schemes which are already in place by using the Current Schemes map.
