New Jisc Historical Texts service is live

Following eight months of intensive development, June 2014 saw the release of the new Historical Texts service for Jisc Collections. The new search and discovery service replaces the previously titled Jisc Historic Books system, bringing together historically significant collections of digitised texts for the research and education sectors.

Jisc Historic Books service redevelopment underway

Following an open OJEU invitation to tender earlier this year, Knowledge Integration (K-Int) was invited by Jisc Collections to take part in a Competative Dialogue procedure for development of a new Historic Books platform to replace the current system at In November, Jisc Collections announced that the contract had been awarded to K-Int with Gooii and Sero Consulting as partners.

Knowledge Integration, KE Software and PTFS Europe collaborate in Royal Armouries’ Accessibility Project

As part of a major project aimed at improving the content and access to its collection management, archive and library systems, Royal Armouries has chosen K-INT (Knowledge Integration), KE Software and PTFS Europe to help deliver this key project.  K-INT will  be providing the CIIM discovery layer, KE Software will be delivering the EMu collections management system and PTFS Europe will be implementing and hosting the Koha library management system.

Europeana Inside Iteration 1

Iteration 1 of the software deliverables of the Europeana Inside project was released in April 2013.  As work package leader for the development phase, K-Int not only developed some core open source modules, which can be used by all project partners, but also integrated elements of the Europeana Connection Kit into the CIIM product and Culture Grid.

K-Int participated in the EU PSP funded Europeana Inside project.  The project had 26 funded partners, including 14 technical partners, and several unfunded associates.  K-Int acted as lead technical partner and leader of the Development and Production work packages.

Made4U final dissemination event

The Made4U project will come to a succesful completion on 30 June 2012 and the final dissemination event will held on 8 June in Barcelona.  Neil Smith of k-int will be one of the speakers at this event, describing the IT platform which underpins the technology demonstrator.

Vocabulary Management Group Ltd

Knowledge Integration Ltd (K-Int) and Schemeta Ltd are pleased to announce that K-Int has taken full control of Vocabulary Management Group Ltd (Vocman) after acquiring the shares previously held by Schemeta.  The full range of Vocman products and services will be integrated into K-Int's existing structure.  Mike Collett of Schemeta will remain closely involved with the Lexaurus product set as an integral part of the K-Int team.

Made4U project begins demonstrator phase

The EU 7th Framework Made4U project reached an important milestone during w/c 13 February when the demonstrator phase of the project was formally launched.  In the ambitious demonstrator a distributed manufacturing environment will be used to manufacture spectacles with highly customised lenses and frames using innovative manufacturing techniques.
