Open Data Aggregator

Open Data Aggregator (ODA) is the result of a a period of intensive development centred around a number of projects with similar requirements for a centralised repository of data and metadata originating in different data formats.

ODA combines a central repository and referretory with fast, distributed SOLR indexes to provide great scalability. Its plugin architecture allows any data format to be supported and searched centrally and data which is ingested into the central system is automatically available as an OAI feed and searchable via SRU and SOLR directly. It uses either SWORD or restful submission services for uploading of data and can be integrated with a dedicated upload client (if required). It can be integrated with datasets for spatial searching and with terminology services for the provision of reference data.

ODA is used as the basis of the new Culture Grid system and as the technical platform for the Parent Know-how portal.
