We’re pleased to announce that Ian Ibbotson has been elected to FOLIO’s newly formed Community Council. Ian joins 14 other council members from around the globe following nominations and open elections by the FOLIO community.
The council aims to cultivate a thriving open community ecosystem for the FOLIO project. It will provide support for new FOLIO adopters, helping them get onboard with the project and up and running with their tenant installations. All members will benefit from a new governance model which has openness, collaboration and inclusivity at its core.
Ian will be drawing upon his technical background and experience of the libraries sector to focus on driving innovation and quality in meeting the needs of library users, and on representing the specific needs of the UK and our EU partners. Working closely with the Product and Technical Councils, one of the first tasks for the Community Council will be to manage the election of new members for its sister councils.
We looking forward to working in and with the council as part of our continuing involvement in the project.
