Lockdown was made a little brighter by the early release of the new improved British Museum’s online collection.
Brought forward by several weeks, the launch was celebrated by history and art enthusiasts alike.
It’s an expansive offering, representing more than half of the Museum’s physical collection and spanning two million years of history across six continents.
New discovery tools help users navigate almost four and a half million objects with features such as auto-suggestions, curated collections, and an all-round improved user experience.
Images are now presented in high definition, presenting impressive zoom options for users to get closer to objects and examine the fine detail and workmanship of museum pieces.
