ARCADE is a publicly-accessible database that categorises, maps, and describes the rich cultural heritage of the City of Lincoln, showcasing the diversity of the city’s long history from Roman times to the present. It was built using the Arches open-source data-management platform with hosting, support and customisation provided by Knowledge Integration.
We have worked closely with colleagues from City of Lincoln to provide the first implementation of Arches in the UK and continue to liaise closely with the Getty Conservation Institute, Farallon Geographics and Historic England to support the widespread adoption of Arches for local authority Historic Environment Records and other applications.
