Modern Slavery Act: slavery and human trafficking policy
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
The Company has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and as part of our contracting processes, in the coming year we will include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, and we expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives and business partners.
Our Carbon Reduction plan
We are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
We are currently working to develop a new sustainability strategy and environmental management system. All emissions reported and future plans include the entities under our financial control
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that we produced in the past and were prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions.
Baseline Year: 2024
Scope 1
Direct emissions from fuel combustion in company assets (e.g., company-owned vehicles, generators, gas boilers).
1.71 tonnes CO₂e
Scope 2
Indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, heating, cooling, and steam.
2.754 tonnes CO₂e
Scope 3
All indirect greenhouse gas emissions that do not fall under scope 2. Includes upstream goods, services, and business travel.
28.614 tonnes CO₂e
Current Emissions 2025
We are improving our collation of all emission based data this year, this will enable us to produce the most accurate analysis of our carbon impact.
Towards the end of 2025 we will be moving to new business premises which are part of a redevelopment of a listed building here in Sheffield. The office space is being fitted to a high specification and will immediately help us reduce our scope two emissions drastically
Long Term Carbon Reduction Plan
We are committed to a 2050 target for Net Zero, and we hope to achieve this long before the target date.
We are producing short and long term carbon reduction targets for the business and our employees.
We have already begun our journey by introducing a fully paperless office, and we will be challenging our teams to reduce their impact both individually and together in terms of work commutes, business travel, personal usage of devices, levels of waste and our efficiency in the office.
