Projects
We use the term project to describe a variety of work. A project is normally a piece of work commissioned by an external customer which has a specified oucome which can't be achieved using an existing product.
Our motivation for getting involved in projects varies. We are prepared to consider projects which meet all, some, one or none of the following criteria:
-
Contribute to the development of our open source products and toolkits;
-
Enhance our understanding of (and hence our profile in) key sectors;
-
Involve innovative and ground-breaking research and development;
-
Allow us to work with, and learn from, cool and interesting partners;
-
Pay so much that we'd be mugs to turn them down;
- Involve travel to warm countries, particularly in the winter.
We are particularly keen on collaborative r&d work, and have an excellent track record both as a company and as individuals in this area. We are keen to work with funding bodies such as the JISC and EU programmes, if only to stop them wasting money re-inventing wheels!
