Projects

A project is normally a piece of work commissioned by an external customer which has a specified oucome which can't be achieved using an existing product.
We are often invited by existing customers to participate in projects which extend the scope of our open source products.  For example, the User Generated Content (UGC) module of our CIIM product was developed initially as part of a NESTA funded project in collaboration with IWM.  The genesis of the CIIM zoomable images implementation can also be found in an R&D project funded by the Technology Strategy Board.  When new features are developed in this way we always try to incorprate them into the main product and make them available to the rest of our customer base.
Our expertise, particularly in the library sector, means that we are often invited to bid to build innovative new solutions for leading bodies.  We have built up a particularly good relationship with Jisc in this area and some of the projects we have been involved with are linked to on the left.
We also have an excellent track record, as a company and as individuals, in multinational collaborative R&D projects.  We have participated in a number of European Union funding programmes and, as a result, have built up excellent relationships with a range of organisations throughout Europe.
